Sweet and spicy pork ribs/ How to make pork ribs recipe

Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 400 gms pork ribs


  • 1/2 cups water


  • 4 tsp oil


  • 1 nos onion,large sliced


  • 1 tsp ginger - garlic crushed


  • 1 nos tomato,chopped


  • 2 tsp honey


  • 1 tsp sugar


  • 2 tsp tomato ketchup


  • 2 tsp soya sauce


  • 1 tsp chili sauce


  • 1 tsp vinegar


  • 2 nos green chilies,chopped


  • 1/2 tsp peppercorns,cracked


  • 1/2 cups green capsicum,thinly sliced


  • 1/2 cups red capsicum,thinly sliced


  • 1 nos for grinding: star anise,small


  • 2 nos cloves


  • 1 1/2 inch cinnamon stick


  • 1/4 tsp fennel


  • 1 tsp for marination: ginger-garlic paste


  • 1 tsp chilli flakes


  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions

  • Marinate the pork ribs in ginger-garlic paste, chilli flakes and salt for a minimum of 30 mins.
  • Take the marinated ribs in a pressure cooker, add water and pressure cook for 10 mins. (If the water remains, let the water evaporate completely.)
  • In a pan, roast the pork on a medium flame for another 5 mins while turning sides. Then keep it aside.
  • In a pan, heat oil and add in the onions, crushed ginger, garlic and saute for a minute.
  • Then add in the tomato and saute till the tomato is mushy. Next, add in the grounded masala, honey, sugar, tomato sauce, soy sauce, chilli sauce, vinegar and saute it well for 2 mins.
  • Now add in the pork ribs, chopped green chillies, cracked black pepper and thinly sliced capsicums. Mix it well and cook for about 5 mins on a medium heat.
  • Finally add in the chopped coriander, give it a quick stir and take it off the flame.
