  • 152 gms dark chocolate broken into pieces (i used morde)

  • 55 gms butter

  • 1 cups brown sugar

  • 2 nos egg

  • 1 tbsp instant coffee powder(dissolved in tbsp water)

  • 100 gms all purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 50 gms almonds(roughly chopped)


  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree c.
  • Line a square baking tray with baking sheet.
  • Place the chocolate and butter in a pan on low heat untill melted.(Dont burn the mixture).cool the mixture.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, cream the eggs and brown sugar. Beat in the eggs. With the mixer on low speed,
  • mix with the melted chocolate and butter mixture.
  • Sift the flour and the baking powder and mix with the chocolate mix.
  • Then carefully add the nuts.Mix well.Batter should not be very loose.
  • Pour the batter in the prepared baking pan. Spread it to even out the surface.
  • Bake until the center is no longer soft, 40 to 45 minutes. Set the brownies aside to cool completely.
  • Once its cooled completely run a knife round the edge of the cake to loosen it.
  • turn the cake out onto a wire rack, remove the line paper and cut into squares and serve.
