  • 1/2 cups rice

  • 2 tbsp whole urad dal

  • 1/2 tsp red food colouring

  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

  • 1 cups sugar

  • 1 cups water

  • 200 ml oil


  • Soak Rice and Urad dal for 2 hr.
  • Drain them and add it to a blender and grind to a very thick smooth paste.
  • add very little water just rotate the blender
  • Add food coloring and baking powder and mix well.
  • Take 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water in a sauce pan. Heat it and mix it well till the sugar is melted and bring it to boil
  • untill it is in a syrupy consistency.
  • Heat oil in a pan and using spoon take small portion of the batter and drop in hot oil, fry till the outer layer is crispy.
  • drain it.
  • Now dip the fried balls in sugar syrup and soak it for 2-3 mins.
