Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Yellow Moong dal,washed 1 cups

  • Sugar 1 cups

  • Cardamom Powder 1 tsp

  • Saffron(infused in 2 tbsp of warm milk) 1 pinch

  • Water 1 cups

  • Milk 1 cups

  • Sliced Almonds/Pista for garnish 1-2 tbsp

Directions

    Wash dal thoroughly and soak in water for at least 4 hours.

    Drain the water and blend dal into a coarse thick paste, adding just enough water to roate the blender.

    Add ghee in a pan and once its hot add the moong dal paste and mix well and cook in medium flame untill its become nice

    golden brown color.This may take 45 min.

    Add sugar and cardomom powder and mix well.

  • 06

    Boil milk and water and add to the halwa and mix well.

  • 07

    Add safrron infused milk and cover and cook for 20 min.

  • 08

    Remove cover and stir well and turn off the heat.

  • 09

    Garnish with almonds.

  • 10

    NOTES: Halwa tastes best if it is served warm.
