Ingredients

Serves : 10
  • 2 cups rice flour(do not use fried rice powder)


  • 2 cups coconut


  • 1 tsp cumins


  • 1 nos garlic cloves


  • 1 nos shallots


  • 1 tsp yeast


  • 1 cups water


  • 3/4 cups coconut water


  • 1 tsp sugar


  • 1 tsp salt some to taste

Directions

  • Mix yeast,sugar and coconut water and blend it well, and keep it for fermentation for 4 hrs.
  • Crush grated coconut,shallots and garlic.
  • Add this mix to the rice powder and mix it well.
  • Mix kapp kachiyathu,fermented yeast mix and desired salt and mix well, add water if required.don't add too much water.
  • Keep it aside for 6 hrs.
  • Heat oil in dosa pan and pour this batter and make appam.
  • Serve hot.
  • NOTES: Kapp kachiyathu-Take 3 tsb rice powder and mix it water and heat it and make it like a thick gravy.
  • Coconut Water- add 1 pinch of sugar and yeast to a bottle of coconut water and keep it in refrigerator.
  • The correct main ingredient is toddy ,since we didn't used it,I used coconut water soured with the yeast.
