Ingredients

  • 2 cups idli rice or pachari


  • 2 cups cooked rice


  • 1 cups coconut(grated)


  • 1 tsp yeast


  • 2 tsp sugar (as per your taste)


  • 1 tsp salt (as per your taste)

Directions

  • Mix yeast in sugar diluted water and keep it for 15 minutes,if it is instant yeast you can use it directly.
  • Grind all the ingredients in mixer grinder for thick batter and keep it aside for minimum 4 hours,so that it will ferment.
  • The batter should be quite light than dosa batter consistency
  • Now batter is ready to be cooked,
  • In a appam pan/kadai, pour laddle full ofthe mix and take pan in hand,thus you can swirl to make desired shape and cook it under closed lid.
  • If you want to make it tastier, you can drizzle oil or sugar on top of it,this is optional.
  • Hot Appam is ready to eat.
  • Try it with egg curry or Kadala(black gram) curry.
