Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Unnakka Kappa / Dry tapioca pieces 250 gms

  • Grated Coconut 1/2 cups

  • Cummin Seeds 1 pinch

  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

  • garlic 1 nos

  • Green Chilly 1-2 nos

  • Oil(Seasoning) 1 tbsp

  • Mustard(Seasoning) 1/2 tbsp

  • Sliced Pearl Onion(Seasoning) 2 nos

  • Dried ChiIies(Seasoning) 2-3 nos

  • Curry Leaves(Seasoning) 1 sprig

  • Salt some to taste 1 tsp

Directions

    Wash the dried tapioca pieces and soak it in water overnight. Next day, drain the water and cook it in pressure cooker with salt & turmeric and adequate water

  • 02

    Crush grated coconut with turmeric, cumin seeds, garlic and green chilly. Keep it aside.

    Drain water from the cooked dried tapioca pieces. Add the crushed coconut mixture, mix thoroughly and mash the tapioca. Cook for a few minutes stirring occasionally. Add salt, if required.

    In a pan, splutter mustard seeds and fry the seasoning items. Add this to the cooked & mashed tapioca.

    Serve warm with fish curry and chilly curd.
