6 nos bread slice(white meal, crust removed, made into small pieces and soaked in little milk)
2 nos medium sized overripe bananas
1/2 cups jaggery - melted & strained
4 nos cardamom - powdered
1/2 tbsp semolina/ rava
2 tbsp coconut bits & black sesame seeds some to taste(fry in ghee & set aside)
Directions
Mix the ingredients listed from bread to rava/semolina with a small pinch of salt and mash well to form the batter. Add the fried coconut pieces and sesame seeds to the batter.
Heat oil in the unniyappam mould, scoop the batter and drop in each hole of the mould and fry. Flip each one upside down and fry till all sides are golden brown in colour. Make sure to cook in medium flame so that the inside also is cooked properly.
Once done, drain in a paper towel and serve warm with tea/ coffee.
