Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 250 gms kovakka (tindora, ivy gourd,sliced)


  • 2-3 nos pearl onions


  • 1 nos garlic


  • 1 sprig green chillies


  • 1 sprig curry leaves


  • 1/2 cups grated coconut


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 pinch chilly powder,to tatse


  • 1 pinch cumin/jeera


  • 2-3 piece cocoums(kudam puli)


  • 200 ml oil


  • 1 pinch salt

Directions

  • Soak the cocums (kudam puli) in enough water and tear it into small pieces.
  • Crush the grated coconut with the spice powders (chilly & turmeric), cumin, onions, garlic and green chillies. Mix this with sliced Kovakka (Ivygourd) & kudampuli in a claypot. Add salt, sprinkle little water, cover and cook in medium heat. Stir well in between.
  • After 15- 20 minutes, remove the lid and add a spoon or two of oil, ideally coconut oil. Sprinkle curry leaves and remove from heat.
  • NOTES: Mix well and serve with rice and gravy. Enjoy
