Serves 3

  • Grated Coconut 2 cups

  • Sugar 1 1/2 cups

  • Milk 1/4 cups

  • Water 1/4 cups

  • Cardamom Powdered 1/2 tsp

    Take water in a pan, add the sugar and bring it to boil. Continue boiling till the mixture reaches 2 string constituency.

    Now add the grated coconut, milk and powdered cardamom. Keep the pan on low flame and stir continuously.

    When the mixture starts to leave the edge of the pan, remove from heat. Divide this mixture to 3 parts and add the colours to 2 parts, saffron and green.

    Take a flat vessel, grease it and place the mixture in 3 layers making the tricolour, starting with green at the bottom. Make square shape slices and leave it to cool.

    Once cool, take each square and serve it on a platter.
