Ingredients

Serves 6

  • Plain Flour 4 cups

  • Milk 1 3/4 cups

  • Dry Yeast 14 gms

  • Unsalted Butter(melted) 100 gms

  • Castor Sugar 1/3 cups

  • Eggs 4 nos

  • Salt 1/2 tsp

  • Oil 150 ml

  • Castor Suga(for dusting) 1 cups

  • Strawberry Jam or Filling 1/2 cups

Directions

    Warm the milk slightly and Set aside half a cup and add yeast.

    Warming the milk is is to activate the yeast. Leave this to foam.

    In a bowl, whisk the remainder of the milk with the sugar, eggs and butter.

    Whisk in the yeast mixture and gradually mix in the flour and salt.

    Place the batter in a warm place covered with a cling film.

  • 06

    Separate the dough into donut shaped balls/ squares. Deep fry these in oil.

    Remove the donuts from the oil and drain on kitchen paper.

    Roll warm donuts in caster sugar. Poke a hole in them with a sharp knife and pipe in some strawberry jam.

    Icing done - icing sugar with your choice of colours.
