Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 cups jeera rice


  • 1/2 kgs prawns


  • 4 tsp ghee


  • 3 nos bay leaves


  • 2 nos cardamom


  • 1 tsp cinnamon crushed


  • 3 nos cloves


  • 2 nos star anise


  • 2 tsp red chili powder


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 3 tsp coriander powder


  • 1/2 tsp garam masala


  • 1 tsp biriyani masala


  • 1 cups pudina leaves


  • 1 cups coriander leaves,chopped


  • 3 nos green chili ,sliced


  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste


  • 1 sprig curry leaves


  • 2 nos tomatoes,sliced


  • 1 tsp salt to taste


  • 4 nos onion,medium sized,sliced


  • 1/2 cups water

Directions

  • Wash rice and soak for half an hour by adding salt.
  • In a bowl marinate prawns with ingredients from 4 to 19.
  • (bay leaves to salt)
  • In a pan saute half of the onion and tomatoes in 2 teaspoon of ghee and add it to the
  • marinade and mix well. Keep the marinade aside for 2 to 4 hours.
  • In a cooker add water and 2 teaspoon ghee.
  • Add the remaining onion and tomatoes as a layer.
  • Add the prawns marinade above that.
  • Add soaked rice as another layer
  • Close the lid and cook in high flame till 6 whistles.
  • Open the lid after pressure settles down, mix well and serve hot.
