Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Arrowroot powder/Koova podi 1 1/2 cups

  • Melted & Sieved Jaggery (adjust according to your preference) 1 cups

  • oconut bits /Thengakothu 3 tbsp

  • Grated Coconut 3 tbsp

  • Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp

  • Kesar powder 1 pinch

  • Ghee 2 tbsp

  • Water 2 cups

Directions

    In a mixing bowl add arrowroot powder, melted jaggery, water and mix well without forming any lumps.

    Heat ghee in a pan, add coconut bits and fry for a minute.

  • 03

    Add arrowroot powder mix and cook on medium flame. Constantly stir till it glossy and thickens.

    Add kesar powder, cardamom powder, grated coconut and mix well.

  • 05

    Add 1tbsp of ghee and stir well. Cook few more minutes or till the mixture start leaving the sides.

  • 06

    Remove from the fire and pour the halwa mixture in to a greased plate.

    Allow it to cool and cut into desired sizes and shapes.
