Arrowroot powder/Koova podi 1 1/2 cups
Melted & Sieved Jaggery (adjust according to your preference) 1 cups
oconut bits /Thengakothu 3 tbsp
Grated Coconut 3 tbsp
Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
Kesar powder 1 pinch
Ghee 2 tbsp
Water 2 cups
In a mixing bowl add arrowroot powder, melted jaggery, water and mix well without forming any lumps.
Heat ghee in a pan, add coconut bits and fry for a minute.
Add arrowroot powder mix and cook on medium flame. Constantly stir till it glossy and thickens.
Add kesar powder, cardamom powder, grated coconut and mix well.
Add 1tbsp of ghee and stir well. Cook few more minutes or till the mixture start leaving the sides.
Remove from the fire and pour the halwa mixture in to a greased plate.
Allow it to cool and cut into desired sizes and shapes.
