Special Paratha: Colocasia leaves stuffed chapati/paratha

Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Whole wheat flour 2 cups

  • Jeera 1 tbsp

  • Butter 2 tbsp

  • Yogurt 2 tbsp

  • Shallots,finely chopped 3 tbsp

  • Tender Colocasia Leaves,finely chopped 1/2 cups

  • Green gram ,Boiled 1/4 cups

  • Green chili Finely Chopped 1 tbsp

Directions

    Add whole wheat flour in a mixing bowl, add jeera, yogurt to combine, sprinkle little water at a time and knead the dough to soft and smooth out. Keep it covered with cloth for 20 min.

    In a pan add 1 tbsp butter ,saut? chopped shallots for 3 min

    Add colocascia leaves, salt, turmeric and finely chopped green chillies. Add boiled green gram.

    Adjust salt.

    This is the filling

    Now make balls, flatten between your palm, dusts with flour, roll the ball into small disc with rolling pin.

    Stuff the following inside and seal the edges.

    Dust with flour and roll into parathas

    Heat 1 tbsp of butter in tawa or skillet on medium flame

  • 10

    Place rolled paratha on hot skillet

  • 11

    After few seconds flip it and gently press with spatula, cook until it is browned on both sides.

    Enjoy with raitha or dal.
