Ingredients

Serves : 1
  • 1 cups ponni rice


  • 1 1/2 cups curd


  • 1 cups milk


  • 1 tbsp oil


  • 1 tsp urad dal


  • 1 tsp mustard seeds


  • 3 nos green chillies,chopped


  • 3 tsp chopped ginger


  • 1 nos curry leaves


  • 1 tsp coriander leaves


  • 2 nos dried chillies


  • 1/2 tsp roasted gram


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida powder

Directions

  • Cook one cup of ponni rice and smash it a bit.
  • Take a pan, splutter mustard seeds, urad dal, roasted grams,add grated ginger ,dried chillies and curry leaves to it. saute well.
  • Take 1.5 cup of curd and 1 cup of milk and mix well, add salt to taste.
  • mix rice , curd and milk mix and the sauted ingredients together , add a pinch of asafoeteda powder.
  • garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Its a perfect main course meal which can have alone or with raitha, pappad, kondattams or pickle.
  • I have served curd rice with fried curd chillies , home made rice flakes and lemon pickle
