Soak saffron strands in a teaspoon of milk and keep aside.
Put milk in a deep pan and bring to a boil
Simmer over low heat, stirring a few times till it thickens (about 1/3 should be evaporated, at least).
Add turmeric powder, sugar, saffron milk and cardamom powder.
Stir till the sugar is dissolved.
Add chopped dry nuts and simmer for about 5 minutes .
Pour into a glass and serve hot or warm garnished with saffron , almonds and pistachios.
My tip This milk preparation should be consumed warm and on the same day/night for best results.
