Steamed Broccoli Soya Oats Patties - Diabetic Control/Healthy Heart

  • 1 1/4 cups multigrain or regular oats

  • 1/2 cups broccoli florets

  • 1/4 cups soya granules

  • 1/2 tsp salt or as per taste

  • 4-5 nos curry leaves

  • 1 nos onion chopped

  • 3-4 nos green chillies chopped

  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic

  • 1/2 tsp minced ginger

  • 1 tsp olive or canola oil


  • Chop broccoli finely, keep it aside
  • Dry roast oata and grind to fine flour. Alternatively you can directly use oats flour and roast it
  • In a pan, heat oil, add ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves,onions. Saute until onions are translucent and raw garlic aroma goes away
  • Add cumin, salt and turmeric. Mix well
  • Soya should be boiled as per packet
  • Add soya, broccoli and saute for 2 minutes. Switch off. Add to oats flour. Mix well. Add salt and water as required to knead dough
  • Boil water in idli cooker, grease idli pan. Make small oats balls, flatten it and place on greased idli pan. Steam on medium heat for 10-13 minutes. Serve hot with chutney
