Wash rice and tuar dal.
Soak it for 5 minutes.
Take a pressure cooker.
Put ghee in it.
When it gets heated put hing and jeera into it.
Now add onion.
Saute it.
When it gets brown put chopped tomatoes or puree in it.
Stirr while putting all the masalas.
Now add 2 1/2 bowl of water in it.
Now cover the lid.
Pressure cook it for 5 minutes.
After 1 whistle simmer the gas.
After 5 minutes off the flame.
When the steam comes out open the pressure cooker.
Serve the khichdi with soup, nimbu achaar, and papad.
You can take curd also instead of soup..
Nimbu is gud for health and digestion.
For soup, it is the basic recipe.
But I have take tomatoes and carrot in it.
