Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 1 bowls tuar dal


  • 1 bowls rice


  • 2 nos onions ,chopped


  • 3 nos puree tomatoes


  • 1 tbsp ginger paste


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1 tsp garam masala


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1/2 bowls corriander leaves


  • 1 tsp dhania powder


  • 1 tsp ghee


  • 1 tbsp kasuri methi


  • 12 tbsp haldi


  • 1 tsp hing


  • 1 1/2 tsp jeera

Directions

  • Wash rice and tuar dal.
  • Soak it for 5 minutes.
  • Take a pressure cooker.
  • Put ghee in it.
  • When it gets heated put hing and jeera into it.
  • Now add onion.
  • Saute it.
  • When it gets brown put chopped tomatoes or puree in it.
  • Stirr while putting all the masalas.
  • Now add 2 1/2 bowl of water in it.
  • Now cover the lid.
  • Pressure cook it for 5 minutes.
  • After 1 whistle simmer the gas.
  • After 5 minutes off the flame.
  • When the steam comes out open the pressure cooker.
  • Serve the khichdi with soup, nimbu achaar, and papad.
  • You can take curd also instead of soup..
  • Nimbu is gud for health and digestion.
  • For soup, it is the basic recipe.
  • But I have take tomatoes and carrot in it.
