Ingredients
Serves 6
Maida /All Purpose Flour - 1 cup
Chocolate chips - 1/4 cup
Coffee Powder - 2 tsp
Sugar - 1/2 cup (100 grams)
Cocoa powder - 2 tsp
Baking Soda - 1/4 tsp
Baking Powder - 1 tsp
Curd - 1/4 cup
Vanilla Essence - 1/2 tsp
Milk - 1/3 cup
For Frosting :Chocolate chips - 2 tbsps
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
Butter - 2 tbsp
1 or 2 tbsp Milk if required to smooth the frosting
Directions
Grease a cake pan and set aside and preheat oven @180 for 10 mins
In a small bowl add the coffee powder and 2-3 tsp warm water or milk, stir well and keep aside.
Take the chocolate chips and mix with ½ tsp flour and set aside.
Seive the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder in a mixing bowl, mix well and set aside.
Add sugar and milk to the curd and whisk till the sugar is melted. Add the melted coffee, vanilla essence, oil and stir well.
Pour the batter into the greased pan. Preheat the oven at 180 ° for 10 mins and bake the cake for 35 mins. Start checking from 30 mins. A tooth pick inserted should come out clean.
Remove it from the oven, let it cool down and invert it.
To make the chocolate frosting, take chocolate chips and sugar in a sauce pan and heat it, when chocolate starts to melt switch off the flame. Add the cocoa powder, butter and mix well till everything is combined well and smooth. Set aside. Your frosting is ready.
Now take the cake and evenly spread the frosting all over the cake with the help of a stapula or knife. Cut and serve.
