Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 1/2 cups urad dhal


  • 1/2 cups toor dhal


  • 1 nos raw rice, fistful


  • 1 nos onion


  • 1 nos curry leaves, fistful


  • 1 1/2 tsp pepper powder


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1/4 cups chopped coconut


  • 1 1/2 cups oil for frying

Directions

  • Soak dhals and rice for 30 minutes only. Chop onions and cut coconut into small pieces. Grind dhal and rice with little water.
  • Grind finely and add onion, coconut curry leaves, salt and pepper and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan on a medium flame. Pinch batter in oil and fry bonda till golden brown.
  • Serve with mint or coriander chutney. It's very healthy for diabetic patients. Soaking the dhal less time helps to absorb less oil.
