Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 6 nos garlic cloves


  • 10 nos red chili


  • 8 nos tomato


  • 1/4 inch tamarind


  • 3/4 tbsp salt to taste


  • 1 cups oil (gingelly oil)

Directions

  • Soak garlic, red chilli and tamarind in hot water. Close it with a lid and keep it aside .To be soaked for half an hour prior.
  • Chop Tomatoes and grind them smooth. Transfer them to a another vessel and remove the pieces which is not grinded.
  • Meanwhile heat up a pan. Add these to the food processor and to this add the soaked red chilli, garlic and tamarind.
  • Make smooth paste if it , then mix both.
  • o the hot pan add the grinded paste and add 3/4 cup of water , mix it and Leave it in low flame .
  • Wait for it to reduce to 1/2 of the volume it was, by now add oil.Mix and again leave in low flame.
  • Once you find the oil saperating add a pinch of sugar and remove off flame.
  • Cool it and transfer to a container.This can be refrigerated for 1 week. Goes good with dosa and idly.
