Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 1 cups semolina


  • 1/2 cups curd


  • 2 tbsp roughly crushed cornflakes


  • 1/2 tsp salt


  • 1/2 cups water


  • 1 tsp fruit salt


  • 1 tsp oil


  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds


  • 4-5 nos curry leaves


  • 2 tbsp cornflakes for topping

Directions

  • In a bowl mix semolina, curd, salt and water
  • Make an idli like batter and keep aside for 5 minutes
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds and curry leaves
  • Switch off the flame and add this tempering to the batter
  • Add crushed cornflakes and mix well
  • Heat water in a steamer
  • Grease the idli moulds with oil
  • Add fruit salt to the batter and mix
  • Pour this batter in greased idli moulds
  • Sprinkle cornflakes and place the idli stand in the steamer
  • Steam for 10-12 minutes
  • Remove the stand from steamer and allow it to cool for 2-3 minutes
  • Remove the idlis and serve
