Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Raw rice 1 bowls

  • Split green gram 1/2 bowls

  • Water 4 bowls

  • Oil 1/2 cups

  • Desi ghee 2 tbsp

  • Jeera 1/2 tsp

  • Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp

  • Curry leaves 2 sprig

  • Green chilli ,splitted 4-5 nos

  • Salt 1 tbsp

  • Coconut,chopped 1/2 cups

  • Cashew 10 nos

  • Coriander leaves ,Chopped 1 tbsp

Directions

    Wash the rice & green gram dal & soak for 15 mins

  • 02

    In a pressure cooker add soaked rice & dal

  • 03

    Add required amount of water & salt

  • 04

    Pressure cooker for 2-3 whistles

    In a pan add oil & ghee

  • 06

    Put musturd seeds & jeera seeds

  • 07

    Next add curry leaves, cashews & green chilli & fry for a min

  • 08

    Then add in the cooked dal & rice mixture

  • 09

    Mix well & add hot water to adjust the consistency of the pongal

  • 10

    Transfer to a serving plate & garnish with coriander leaves & 1 tsp of Desi ghee

    Serve hot
