Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 bowls raw rice


  • 1/2 bowls split green gram


  • 4 bowls water


  • 1/2 cups oil


  • 2 tbsp desi ghee


  • 1/2 tsp jeera


  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds


  • 2 sprig curry leaves


  • 4-5 nos green chilli ,splitted


  • 1 tbsp salt


  • 1/2 cups coconut,chopped


  • 10 nos cashew


  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves ,chopped

Directions

  • Wash the rice & green gram dal & soak for 15 mins
  • In a pressure cooker add soaked rice & dal
  • Add required amount of water & salt
  • Pressure cooker for 2-3 whistles
  • In a pan add oil & ghee
  • Put musturd seeds & jeera seeds
  • Next add curry leaves, cashews & green chilli & fry for a min
  • Then add in the cooked dal & rice mixture
  • Mix well & add hot water to adjust the consistency of the pongal
  • Transfer to a serving plate & garnish with coriander leaves & 1 tsp of Desi ghee
  • Serve hot
