HONEY CHILLI CHOCOLATE IDLI

Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 500 gms idli batter (batter should not runny or sour)


  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder


  • 6 tbsp honey


  • 2 tbsp condensed milk or milk powder


  • 2 tbsp butter


  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence


  • 2 pinch chilli powder


  • 2 tbsp melted chocolate for garnishing


  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar


  • 1 tsp chilli flakes

Directions

  • Add water in the idli steamer and allow it to boil.
  • Take idli batter in a bowl and add all the ingredients  and mix well. 
  • Just grease moulds with little butter before pouring the batter
  • Pour the prepared batter into the moulds. 
  • Once water is boiling in steamer. Grease the idli moulds with butter and pour batter in the moulds.
  • Place the batter filled  idli plate inside the steamer.  Let it steam for 10-12 minutes.
  • ( When you insert a tooth pick into the center of the idlis it should come out clean, if it has batter sticking to it then steam for a few more minutes) 
  • Switch off the flame; open the steamer  and take the moulds out. 
  • Sprinkle some water on the cooked honey chilli chocolate idlis and keep for sometime .  After few minutes remove from the idli moulds and transfer in to a serving bowl. Garnish it with powdered sugar , melted chocolates and red chilli flakes.
  • Yummy sweety spicy Honey chilli chocolate idli is ready to serve.
  • Serve hot.
  • NOTE If you want to prepare sweet version of chocolate idli avoid using chilli powder and prepare idlis adding other ingredients.
