Cut the turkey berries into two pieces, place in water and keep aside.
In a pressure pan heat oil.
Then add mustard seeds, after it splutters add urad dhal and cumin seeds. Later add curry leaves.
Next add sliced onions and garlic cloves, saute for couple of minutes.
Then add tomatoes,and green chillies saute for a minute.
Then add the sliced turkey berries along with half the quantity of salt required for the dish.
Stir and close the lid without cooker weight. Reduce the flame to medium and allow it to cook for 3 minutes.
Now add grated coconut, sambar powder, turmeric powder and cooked thuvar dhal. Add 1/3 cup of water mix and check for salt.
Now close the lid with cooker weight and allow to cook for 2 whistles.
Serve with rice or chappathi.
