Ingredients

Serves 10

  • Almonds (Soaked in hot water for 1 hr) 1 cups

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk 200 gms

  • Milk 1/2 cups

  • Milk, to blend the almonds Ghee 2 tbsp

  • Clarified Butter 1/4 cups

  • Sugar 2 tbsp

  • Saffron (save 1/4 tsp for garnish) 1/2 tsp

  • Cardamom Powder (freshly ground) 1/8 tsp

Directions

    Peel the skin from the almonds and get them ready

    Soak saffron in 2 Tbsp of warm milk

  • 03

    Grease the tray with ghee in which you want to set the burfi and set aside

  • 04

    Blend almonds to a coarse paste with milk

  • 05

    Heat the pan and immediately add in the blended almond paste

  • 06

    Cook the almond paste stirring continuously for 2 mins

  • 07

    Add in the sweetened condensed milk, sugar, saffron milk

  • 08

    Cook this mixture on medium heat stirring continuously till a dough like mixture is formed

  • 09

    Add in ghee and incorporate with the mixture and cook further for 2 mins

  • 10

    Transfer onto the greased plate and smoothen the surface

  • 11

    Cut into desired shape once the mixture is cooled down completely
