  • 2 nos green bell peppers

  • 3/4 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp cornflour

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 cups buttermilk

  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs

  • 4-5 cups vegetable oil enough to deep fry properly


  • Rinse the bell peppers and cut into 1/4 inch thick slices.
  • Combine all purpose flour, cornflour, salt, baking powder, paprika and garlic powder.
  • Coat the rings in flour mixture and keep aside.
  • Add in enough buttermilk to flour mixture to form a free flowing batter.
  • Dip each ring into the batter and take out. Shake off the excess batter away.
  • Coat with bread crumbs.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Fry the rings until golden, flipping once.
  • Let the rings drain in cooling rack in single layer.
  • Salt lightly as soon as the rings come out of the oil. (*Optional)
  • Enjoy right away.
