Ingredients

Serves : 10
  • 1 1/4 cups maida/ all purpose flour


  • 1/4 cups for stuffing -mawa/ khoya


  • 2 tbsp chopped mixed dry fruits


  • 1 cups sugar/ cheeni for making syrup plus 1 tablespoon for stuffing


  • 4 tbsp nova ghee for dough plus remaining for frying


  • 1/2 cups water/ pani

Directions

  • Add maida and ghee in a bowl and make a soft dough by adding little water to it. Rest for 10 minutes.
  • Mix all the ingredients of stuffing (mawa, sugar and chopped dry nuts).
  • Divide the dough into 12 equal parts and roll them like thin rotis/ chapatis.
  • Take a roti, put 1 teaspoon of stuffing at the center of the roti and cover another roti and fold the edges to make a design of chandrakala
  • Meanwhile heat enough ghee in a pan and fry the chandrakala sweet on slow flame till they become golden and crispy.
  • Make a 1 string syrup in a pan by adding water and sugar.
  • Dip the fried chandrakalas in sugar syrup for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, take out chandrakala from the syrup .
  • Delicious sweet 'Chandrakala' is ready to be served!!
