Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cups raw rice


  • 3/4 cups split green gram


  • 2 nos jaggery,small blocks


  • 1/4 cups ghee


  • 1/4 cups ground nut , (roasted,peeled & splited)


  • 20 nos cashew


  • 10 nos raisans


  • 1/4 tsp elaichi powder


  • 4 cups water splitted(for rice & dal cooking) & (for jaggery suyup)

Directions

  • Dry roast splited green gram until you get nice aroma
  • In a pressure cooker add washed raw rice & roasted green gram & water
  • Cook for 3 vishals
  • Take another pan & add jaggery & water & bring it to a boil
  • Cook for 20 mins & once it cool downs strain the syrup with a strainer
  • And add this syrup to the cooked rice & dal mixture
  • Combine well & cook for 10 mins
  • Lastly roast raisains & cashew with ghee & put it on top the pongal
  • Transfer this to a serving dish
  • Note: U can add grated coconut (optional)
