Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Raw Rice 1 cups

  • Split green gram 3/4 cups

  • Jaggery,small blocks 2 nos

  • Ghee 1/4 cups

  • Ground Nut , (roasted,peeled & splited) 1/4 cups

  • Cashew 20 nos

  • Raisans 10 nos

  • Elaichi Powder 1/4 tsp

  • Water splitted(for rice & dal cooking) & (for jaggery suyup) 4 cups

Directions

    Dry roast splited green gram until you get nice aroma

  • 02

    In a pressure cooker add washed raw rice & roasted green gram & water

  • 03

    Cook for 3 vishals

  • 04

    Take another pan & add jaggery & water & bring it to a boil

  • 05

    Cook for 20 mins & once it cool downs strain the syrup with a strainer

  • 06

    And add this syrup to the cooked rice & dal mixture

  • 07

    Combine well & cook for 10 mins

  • 08

    Lastly roast raisains & cashew with ghee & put it on top the pongal

    Transfer this to a serving dish

  • 10

    Note: U can add grated coconut (optional)
