Ingredients
Serves 10
Maize flour 1 1/2 cups
Gram flour 3/4 cups
Salt 1 tsp
Dry red chilli flakes (paprika 1 tsp
Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Carom seeds 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Curry leaves torn into small pieces 1/4 cups
Oil 2 cups
Water to knead a stiff dough 3/4 cups
Directions
First of all gather all the required ingredients.
Next add all the other ingredients to the mixing bowl.
Now add in the flours with oil and curry leaves and knead into a smooth but stiff dough with water as required.
Take a handful of this mix and press into a chakli maker and start making them as we do for murukku.
Fry on medium flame in hot oil.
Fry in batches until the dough is used up fully.
Serve them right away or store in airtight containers for later use after they come down to the room temperature.
They become crispier as they cool down and can be relished upto 20 days or more.
