Ingredients

Serves : 8
  • 2 kgs carrots peeled and grated


  • 500 ml condensed milk


  • 1/2 cups sugar


  • 1 tbsp cardamom powder


  • 3/4 litre nova milk


  • 1 cups dry fruits like almonds and cashew nuts slivered


  • 1 cups nova ghee or nova butter


  • 100 gms fresh cream


  • 1 cups mawa / khoya


  • 2-5 nos saffron threads dissolved in 2 tbsp of milk

Directions

  • Wash and grate your carrots and set aside .
  • Put the grated carrots in a preferably large non stick pot .
  • Mix in the milk well before putting it on a medium high flame for about 20-25 minutes .
  • Occasionally keep stirring . At the end of the duration , see to it that there is no raw smell left and that it is well cooked .
  • At this point , add in the sugar , consensed milk , half of the dry fruits , cardamom powder and ghee .
  • Let this sit on flame for another 10-15 minutes .
  • Leave it to cool down a bit .
  • Before serving, mix in the fresh cream and also sprinkle fresh grated khoya or mawa with loads of mixed dry fruits
