Ingredients
Serves 4
whole Urad 1 cups
Boiled potato 1 cups
onion 1 nos
Garlic Paste 1 tsp
Mustard seed 1 tsp
cumin powder 1 tsp
chopped green chilli 1 tbsp
Curry leaves 2 sprig
Salt 1.5 tsp
Cooking Oil 200 ml
Directions
Soak whole Urad in water for 3 hours.Drain out the water and make a fine smooth paste in mixie.
In a pan heat 2 tbsp oil.Add mustard seeds and let it sputter.Add chopped onion, chopped green chilli and fry for a minute.
Add garlic paste and fry at medium flame.Add mashed boiled potato, cumin powder and mix well.
Cook for a minute stirring continuously.Cool this mixture.Make lemon sized small balls using this mixture.
Take batter in a bowl.Add chopped curry leaves and salt.Mix well.
Heat Oil in a Kadai/pan for frying the fritters.Dip one potato ball in urad dal batter and put into the hot oil.Repeat this process with all potato balls.Fry for 2 to 3 minutes at medium flame until they are light brown in colour.
Serve hot with Tomato chutney or any Dip.
