Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • 1 cups skimmed milk powder


  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour


  • 2 tbsp ghee


  • 1/2 tsp soda


  • 5-6 tsp water to make dough


  • 2 cups sugar


  • 2 1/2 cups water


  • 2 tbsp milk


  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder


  • 2-3 cups oil for frying

Directions

  • take milk powder, flour, ghee and soda in a bowl
  • mix well so that ghee mixes evenly with milk powder
  • sprinkle water over the mixture and make a soft dough
  • do not knead the dough
  • cover with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 15 minutes
  • take sugar and water in a pan
  • when it starts to boil add milk and remove impurities
  • add cardamom powder
  • when the syrup turns little sticky, turn off the flame
  • now take the dough and divide into marble sized portions
  • roll each portion and make a round shaped crack free ball
  • heat oil in a kadai
  • when oil becoms medium hot, drop the balls into the oil
  • stir gently with spoon and fry over medium heat
  • fry until golden brown
  • drain and transfer them into sugar syrup
  • keep the jamuns in syrup for 1-2 hours
  • jamuns are ready to serve
