Wash the samak rice well and soak in enough water for at least 30 minutes.
Soak saffron in 1 tsp milk in a small bowl.
After 30 minutes, drain all the water from rice and sauté in 1/2 tsp nova ghee in a shallow pan on medium flame.
Heat the milk in a heavy bottom pan and bring to a boil.
Add roasted rice to it and cook on a low flame, while stirring continuously.
Cook for about 15 minutes or till samak rice becomes soft and mushy.
Keep scraping the sides of the pan.
now add sugar
Add dry nuts, almonds, cashews and raisins
Add cardamom powder and saffron milk and mix well.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes or till kheer thicken slightly.
Finally switch off the flame.
Garnish with pistachios and saffron strands.
Serve hot or warm or chilled as per the liking.
