Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Pavaykka(Bittergourd) 2 nos

  • Grated coconut 1 cups

  • Coriander powder 2 tbsp

  • Onion(sliced) 1 nos

  • Greenchillies 3 nos

  • Chilly Powder 1 tbsp

  • turmeric powder 1 tsp

  • Tamarind Pulp 2 tbsp

  • Oil 2 tbsp

  • Mustard 1 tsp

  • Curryleaves 1 sprig

  • Salt 1 pinch

Directions

    Cut bittergourd into small pieces also slit the greenchillies in lenghth wise

    Roast the grated coconut in medium flame and keep aside

  • 03

    Heat a pan and add the roasted coconut along with turmeric powder,coriander powder and chilly powder

  • 04

    Roast it for few minutes and grind it into fine powder

  • 05

    Heat oil in another pan and splutter the mustard in it

  • 06

    Add the sliced onion,bittergourd and curry leaves,Saute this well

  • 07

    To this add the coconut mix along with the tamarind juice and cook it for 10 mins

  • 08

    Our pavakka varutharachathu is ready serve it hot
