Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 nos pavaykka(bittergourd)


  • 1 cups grated coconut


  • 2 tbsp coriander powder


  • 1 nos onion(sliced)


  • 3 nos greenchillies


  • 1 tbsp chilly powder


  • 1 tsp turmeric powder


  • 2 tbsp tamarind pulp


  • 2 tbsp oil


  • 1 tsp mustard


  • 1 sprig curryleaves


  • 1 pinch salt

Directions

  • Cut bittergourd into small pieces also slit the greenchillies in lenghth wise
  • Roast the grated coconut in medium flame and keep aside
  • Heat a pan and add the roasted coconut along with turmeric powder,coriander powder and chilly powder
  • Roast it for few minutes and grind it into fine powder
  • Heat oil in another pan and splutter the mustard in it
  • Add the sliced onion,bittergourd and curry leaves,Saute this well
  • To this add the coconut mix along with the tamarind juice and cook it for 10 mins
  • Our pavakka varutharachathu is ready serve it hot
