  • 4 cups rice flour

  • 1/2 cups roasted urad dal powder

  • 6 tbsp roasted fried gram daal powder

  • 1/2 cups hot water or as needed to make soft dough

  • 1/4 cups nova butter

  • 4 cups jaggery

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1/2 tsp dry ginger powder

  • 10 piece coconut and cashews

  • 1 tsp ghee/clarified butter

  • 1/2 litre oil for deep frying


  • Make a soft dough by adding enough hot water to rice flour, roastedurad dal powder and roasted fried gram powder. After kneading add butter and knead again to form a soft dough.
  • Now heat oil and using a sev maker machine squeeze the dough in hot oil.
  • Fry till golden brown.
  • Now lightly crush them.
  • Fry coconut and cashews in ghee/clarified butter.
  • Now in a thick bottomed pan melt jaggery and powder sugar.
  • Cook this till it teacher soft ball consistancy.
  • Switches of the gas and add fried coconut, cashews and dry ginger powder
  • Now add crushed fried sev.
  • Mix till it’s well coated.
  • Store in air tight container and serve as and when required
