Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1/4 cups rice


  • 1 cups water


  • 2 pinch salt


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder


  • 1/2 tsp fenugreek powder


  • 4 tbsp coconut


  • 2 nos small onion


  • 3/4 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1 tsp ashaali/cress seeds


  • 1 tsp for seasoning:ghee


  • 2 nos small onion

Directions

  • Soak rice for 20 minutes and wash well
  • In a cooker add rice along with all powders and water and cook for one whistle in medium flame
  • When the pressure releases open the cooker
  • Grind coconut along with cumin and shallots to fine paste
  • Add this paste into the cooked rice along with extra water
  • Cook for 5 minutes
  • Add salt and cress seeds(opt)
  • Finally season with small onions
  • So tasty healthy Jeeraka Kanji is ready to serve
