Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 1 cups unakkalari /payasam rice


  • 6 nos jaggery ,(increase or decrease)


  • 1 pinch salt


  • 2 tbsp grated coconut


  • 3 1/2 cups water


  • 3-4 nos cardamom


  • 1 tbsp ghee


  • 2-3 nos tulsi leaves

Directions

  • Soak rice for 20 minutes
  • Then wash well
  • Take a cooker and pressure cook the rice by adding water for 2 whistle in medium flame
  • Boil jaggery in water and strain well
  • When the rice is well cooked ,add jaggery and mix well
  • Add salt and grated coconut and mix
  • Now cook for 5 minutes stirring continuously
  • Finally add ghee and Tulsi
  • Check the taste,So the tasty payasam is ready to serve
