  • 100 gms maida/all-purpose flour

  • 100 gms powdered sugar

  • 4 nos egg

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp vanilla essence/cardamom powder

  • 1 tsp ghee/oil, for greasing the cooker


  • Seperate egg yolks from egg whites
  • Beat egg whites until stiff peaks using a electric beater or a whisk
  • After that beat egg yolks and powdered sugar
  • Add powderedm sugar step by step and beat until creamy consistency
  • Mix the egg yolk mixture with egg whites
  • Sift flour and baking soda using a sieve
  • Step by step add the flour to the egg mix
  • Combine well using a whisk or a fork
  • Dont use a beater
  • Grease the cooker using ghee or oilgrease it moderatelyif oil /ghee ids more the bottom of the cake will become crispy
  • Turn on the stove and place an aluminium lid above it
  • This will act as a barrier between flame and cooker and prevent cake from burning
  • Place the cooker above the lid and pour the cake mix to it
  • Close it and cook for 20-25 minutes in low flame
  • Insert a toothpick to check the cake is cooked or not
  • If the toothpick remains clean then the cake is cooked
  • When the cake is ready turn off the flame and allow it to cool down
  • Flip the cake to a plate and enjoy
  • This cake is so soft and spongy
