Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 1/2 nos pumpkin


  • 1/2 cups toor dal


  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 pinch salt


  • 2 tbsp sugar/jaggery


  • 1 cups grated coconut


  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1 cups water


  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds


  • 2 nos dry red chilli


  • 1 sprig curry leaves


  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

Directions

  • Wash and cook dal and pumpkin pieces by adding water along with saltchilli powder turmeric powder in medium flame for 2 whistle
  • After 2 whistle remove from the fire and allow to cool
  • Then open the cooker,Mix well
  • By that time grind coconut cumin seeds along with small amount of water to a fine paste
  • Add this paste to the cooked dal-pumpkin and mix well
  • Allow to boil for 10 minutes in low flame stirring occasionally
  • Check the salt if ur pumpkin is not sweet enough u can add 1 tsp of sugar or jaggery into it
  • Then its time to season the erisserry
  • For that heat oil and splutter mustard seeds then add dry red chilli splits and curry leaves
  • Pour over the erisserry and close the kadai for 5 minutes
  • Then mix well and serve with rice
