  • 1/2 kgs ethapazham(ripe plantain)

  • 4 tbsp rice flour

  • 1/2 cups jaggery

  • 1 cups maida

  • 3 nos palayankodan banana

  • 1/4 cups water

  • 3 cups coconut oil

  • 1 pinch salt to taste


  • Slice the bananas(ethapazham) into thin pieces
  • Mash the palaymkodan bananas and keep this aside
  • Melt the grated jagerry with required water and keep it aside
  • Mix both the flours together, add the jaggery syrup, mashed bananas, salt and mix well to make a batter,The batter should be thicker than the idli batter(add water if required)
  • Dip the sliced bananas in the batter
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the bananas until both sides become golden brown colour
  • Drain the excess oil and serve hot
