Ingredients

Serves : 12
  • 1/2 cups jaggery,grated


  • 12-15 nos vayana ela/bay leaves


  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder


  • 1 cups jack fruit


  • 1/2 cups grated coconut


  • 1 cups rice flour( roasted)


  • 2 cups water


  • 1 pinch salt

Directions

  • Cut the jack fruit and take out the flesh
  • Take about 1 cup
  • Now finely chop or mince the jack fruit flesh
  • Add grated coconut,grated jaggery,rice flour,cardamom powder and salt
  • Add sufficient quantity of water and knead to form a slightly sticky dough
  • Take a bay leaf/vayanaela and shape it into a cone,secure using a tooth pick or eerkil(coconut leaves stem)
  • Fill the cone with the prepared dough
  • Cover by pressing the leaf stalk into the cone
  • Repeat with the remaining dough
  • Steam for about 15 to 20 minutes
  • Serve warm with tea
