Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 2 cups maida


  • 1 tsp baking powder


  • 1/2 cups sugar


  • 1-2 cups water,as required


  • 1 pinch cardamom seeds(crushed)


  • 1 nos egg


  • 300 ml vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

  • For the dough let us mix maida,baking powder,sugar make it like a tight dough by adding required water along with beaten eggs and cardamom seeds
  • Make it into a tight dough,Keep it aside for 1 - 2 hours
  • Divide the dough into 8 - 10 equal portions
  • Shape the dough roughly like a square and run a sharp knife over the formed pieces to form two deep cuts like a cross
  • Fry these in the oil till they are golden brown
  • Drain the excess oil from Vettu Cake with a paper towel
  • and Serve with hot tea
