Ingredients

Serves : 15
  • 1 cups non-fat milk powder


  • 1/4 cups all purpose flour


  • 1/8 tsp baking soda


  • 1/2 cups heavy cream


  • 1/2 tsp cardamom coarsely ground


  • 1 1/2 cups for syrup: sugar


  • 1 1/2 cups water


  • 250 ml oil

Directions

  • SYRUP: Heat water and sugar in a pan and bring it to boil
  • Stir until sugar dissolves. Turn off and set aside
  • JAMUN: Mix milk powder, all purpose flour, baking soda, cardamom in a bowl
  • Add cream and mix it well
  • Dough should be very soft and sticking to fingers. Cover and set aside for 10minutes
  • Knead the dough and divide it to 15 parts and roll them to round balls
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan on medium heat. Oil in pan should be enough to dip the balls
  • Place the jamuns in frying pan
  • It should be about 7 minutes to fry i.e until brown colour
  • Let the jamuns cool off for a few minutes before placing them to hot syrup
  • Jamuns should sit in syrup for at least 20 minutes before serving
  • Garnish it with crushed almonds
