Ingredients

Serves 6

  • Black Pepper(Kurumulaku) 4 tbsp

  • Cumins 2 tsp

  • Tamarind 1-2 nos

  • Coriander seeds 2 tsp

  • Curry leaves 4 sprig

  • Dry Red Chilies 3-4 nos

  • Coconut oil 4 tbsp

  • Water 4 cups

  • Salt 1 pinch

  • Mustard seeds 2 tsp

  • Asafoeitida Powder 1/2 tsp

  • turmeric powder 1 tsp

  • Garlic-chopped 3 nos

  • tomatoes 2 nos

  • Coriander Leaves 4 sprig

Directions

    Heat 2 cups of water in a pan and add salt, turmeric powder, chopped tomatoes, garlic,Bring to boil,Simmer for about 10 minutes

    and keep aside

    Soak tamarind in1 cup of water for 20 minutes and squeeze out the juice

  • 04

    Crush the cumin seeds, peppercorns,coriander seeds and curry leaves in a grinder

  • 05

    Add the crushed peppercorn mixture and the tamarind juice and stir well,Cook for 4 minutes

    Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds for tempering

  • 07

    When it blastes, add asafoetida, curry leaves and red chilly

  • 08

    Pour it over the rasam and Garnish with some fresh coriander leaves

  • 09

    Spicy Rasam for good digestion is ready
