  • Parippu 1/2 cups

  • Cheera/ Spinach 1 cups

  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

  • onion 1 nos

  • Scraped Coconut 1/2 cups

  • Green chilly 2 nos

  • Curry leaves 1 sprig

    Soak the cheera in water with little salt for some time and rinse and drain

  • 02

    Take parippu and cook in a pan with just enough water and cover and cook on slow fire

  • 03

    Chop the onions finely into squares, cut the chillies round

  • 04

    Heat another pan, pour oil and pop mustards, then add the chopped onion, green chillies and curry leaves

    Once they are limp, add turmeric powder and then the scraped coconut

    Chop the spinach finely and keep aside

  • 07

    Fry the coconut for a few minutes till they are slightly dry

    Add salt, mix well and then add the chopped cheera/ Spinach

  • 09

    Stir fry on high flame for one full minute or more till you can see the leaves curl up

    Add the cooked parippu and mix well

    Cheera and Parippu thoran is ready
