Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1/2 kgs rawrice (pachari)


  • 50 gms dry red chillies


  • 25 gms cuminseeds (jeeraakam)


  • 25 gms sesame seeds(ellu)


  • 1 tbsp asafoetida powder(kayam)


  • 1 tsp salt ,as required

Directions

  • For preparing ari kondattam/vattal, grind together all the ingredients
  • Then add 2 litres water and knead well
  • Put the mixture in the murukku press
  • Press it over a cloth and sun dry it
  • Deep fry the dried kondattam in oil and serve with rice
