Ingredients

Serves 5

  • Milk powder – 1 cup

  • All purpose flour – 1/2 cup

  • Sugar – 1 cup

  • Water – 2 cup

  • Baking soda – 1/4 tsp

  • Ghee – 3tsp

  • Milk - 1/2 cup

  • Cardamom – 4crushed

  • Rose water – 1 tsp

  • Vegetable oil - 3 cup

  • Cardamom crushed-5

Directions

    Syrup for Gulab Jamun: Mix sugar and water in a wide vessel and keep in a low flame

    Once the sugar is completely melted add the cardamom powder, rose water and keep in very low flame

  • 03

    Stir the syrup in between

    When the sugar syrup is ready, keep the syrup in warm vesssel

  • 05

    For Jamuns:Mix milk powder, all purpose flour and baking soda

  • 06

    Make a dough by gradually adding milk,Knead properly to get a smooth dough

    Cover it with a damp cloth and keep for 15 minutes

    Apply little ghee and make small lemon sized balls from the dough

  • 09

    The ball must be small since it will double in size while frying

  • 10

    And heat vegetable oil in a pan first at high heat and then reduce to medium

    Fry the balls in the vegetable oil

  • 12

    Stir the oil continuously so that the balls will get brown,Never fry the balls in high heat, since they will not get cooked inside

    When the balls turn brown, transfer them directly into the warm sugar syrup,Close it with a lid

    Tasty Gulab Jamun is ready

    Garnish with cardamom
