Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Rice Flour 1 cups

  • Hot Water as required 2 cups

  • Salt to taste 1 pinch

  • Cardamon powder 1/4 tsp

  • Banana leafs 4 nos

  • For Filling:Grated Coconut 1 cups

  • Grated Jaggery 1/2 cups

  • Salt 1 pinch

  • coconut milk (optional) 1 pinch

Directions

    Mix coconut jaggery,cardamom powder with your hands very well until well combined and soft

  • 02

    Spread half tsp of oil all over the leaf with the fingers

  • 03

    Make a dough (like chappathi dough,not too watery) by adding hot water and salt

  • 04

    Place lemon size dough in the center of the leaf, flatten it with finger and spread the filling on it

    Fold the leaf in half

  • 06

    Tuck the ends of the leaf

  • 07

    Place the adas in a steamer/idly cooker and steam it for 10 minutes

  • 08

    Ela Ada is ready to serve it warm or after it cools down
