Ingredients

Serves 6

  • limes each cut into 8 chunks (skin on - remove pips) 4 nos

  • salt 2 tbsp

  • turmeric 1 tsp

  • chilli powder (adjust to taste) 1 tbsp

  • fenugreek seeds, ground 2 tbsp

  • asafoetida 1 tsp

  • mustard oil 3 tbsp

Directions

    Sterilise a glass jar and add the chopped limes, salt, and turmeric

  • 02

    Put the lid on the jar and shake

  • 03

    Leave the jar on a window sill (preferably in the sun) for one month

  • 04

    Ensure you give the jar a shake everyday

  • 05

    After one month heat the mustard oil to smoking point then leave to cool

  • 06

    Once cooled pour into the jar with the chilli, fenugreek and asafoetida

  • 07

    Shake and leave for a few days before using
